Mission and objectives

Our mission is to provide a response, from a university perspective, to the challenges and opportunities presented by the current situation surrounding migration and issues related to seeking refuge in another country, as well as international cooperation. We offer reflections aimed at transforming our social context, where diversity represents an opportunity, re-creating our societies, in order to make them more inclusive and intercultural.

To achieve this, research, teaching and social transformation are the three main axes that move the University Institute for Studies on Migration (“IUEM”, in Spanish) and our university. The challenges posed by the current context of migration and cooperation, as well as the complexity of the situation and global interconnectivity, require creative, sustainable and transformative responses, now more than ever.

In order to achieve this general objective, we work together with different departments and centers at the university that play an important role both in communication and sustainability, with a strategic focus on projects.
