Objective:

To introduce students to the concept of sustainability and to show the multiple connections related to current society; to educate students on the need to act from different fields to develop global solutions to global challenges.

To encourage critical analysis of individual and collective action in order to face the necessary challenges to achieve a more just and sustainable world.

Sustainability Management in Business (40 hours)

Objective:

To understand the role of companies as transformative agents for sustainability. To identify areas of action to improve the contribution of companies to sustainability, and to analyze the threats and incentives to management.

To encourage critical analysis of business activity and to incentivize the search for innovative solutions to promote from the business sector.

A diploma will be awarded by the university.

Objective:

To become familiarized with all the tools which are included in social media and in social business, as well as their main uses and results.

To understand how digital marketing tools are at the service of the digital marketing plan and how they interact with each other.

Web Analysis (20 hours)

Objective:

To have the appropriate means and resources to analyze digital marketing campaigns, as well as knowledge of the most used KPIs.

To teach students to design their own scorecards for measuring the results of digital marketing activities.

General Objectives:

To provide students with practical learning in the sense of innovation in 4IR and ICT for a hyper globalized world.

You will also realize that these 4IR technologies can have an equally transforming impact on both people and the planet. Making the 4IR a sustainable revolution is the opportunity of this young generation: changes in the systems needed to deliver a clean, safe and inclusive economy can be driven by this technology. The 4IR leader position will be key to addressing the urgent problems of our planet: environmental, social and economic challenges.

Finally, the current business context requires the intensive use of information for strategic decision making. In this new environment, Big Data and Business Intelligence will be presented to the student as instruments for a new reality of competitiveness and redefinition of business management.

International Doping (20 hours)

Common objectives for these courses:

To introduce the student to the new discipline of International Sports Law by offering a general overview of sporting institutions and the systems of regulations which govern the world of sports.

To analyze in detail the legal system of the International Federation Football Association (FIFA), its organic statutes and the regulations which govern contractual stability between players and football clubs, as well as the rules regulating the activities of players' representatives and agents who organize matches.

To analyze in detail the alternative mechanisms for resolving disputes within sports, with special emphasis on the workings and jurisprudence of the Court of Arbitration for Sport based in Lausanne (Switzerland).

To offer the student an example of a private sanctioning legal system as is the World Anti-Doping Code accepted at a supra-national level by governments and Sporting Institutions.

Through practical exercises and by simulated arbitration, it is intended that students should improve their oral and written communication skills and abilities, thus facilitating their capacity for organization and group work.

Objective:

This course develops, from a general perspective, the proven process for the building of an active brand name. It involves explaining and developing, from a basic focus, the different elements that come into consideration in the shaping of a brand name within the areas of sports and entertainment-leisure activities: the definition of the goals and strategic objectives, the total development of the brand image, the fixing of appropriate strategies based on the brand and the evaluation of the reach of the brand name.

Negotiation Techniques (20 hours)

Objective:

At the end of the course, students should be able to:

  • Develop a systematic approach to negotiating in different professional environments (business, labor, cognitive conflicts).
  • To understand the foundations of the process of negotiation, by understanding its strengths and weaknesses.
  • To present the tactics and strategies that should be prepared to develop a solid negotiation.

Human Resources Management (20 hours)

Objective:

To provide the participants with social and labor skills, techniques and attitudes that consolidate their capacity to act more efficiently in positions of responsibility in business management of human resources.

Strategic Management (20 hours)

Objective:

  • Assimilation of the basic concepts of strategic business management, especially referring to strategic planning.
  • Knowledge of the tools of support for company executives in strategic planning; additionally, students should understand the limitations of these tools, and learn the conditions under which optimum use can be made.
  • Practice in critical analysis of the science of strategic management, and knowledge of the different academic and business trends concerning management philosophy.

 Simulation of Multi-National Companies Acting in Different Markets (20 hours)

Objective:

The aim of the course is to provide students with a practical overview of the different theoretical aspects in the course on Business Management, mainly in reference to the subject of Strategic Management. To achieve this, a Business Simulator or Business Game, in this case, the Executive Game, is used as a learning instrument.

A diploma will be awarded by the university.

Number of Class Hours:

90 hours (80 class hours + 10 hours of technical and cultural visits)

  • Technical visits to companies, public and private institutions and entities related to the content of the course.
  • Cultural visits to the Prado Museum and the "Madrid de los Austrias y de los Borbones".

International Marketing (40 hours)

Objective:

The main objective of International Marketing is to become familiarised with the needs of customers in foreign markets and to satisfy them better than the competition, coordinating the diverse activities in marketing in a global context. This subject includes the foundations of international marketing, the basic principles on which business decisions are based, the appropriate strategies to reach the goals of marketing in foreign markets and the elaboration of an international marketing plan, along with the main techniques and procedures used currently in foreign commerce, whose command is essential to act effectively in foreign markets.

International Commerce and International Negotiations (40 hours)

- International Commerce

Objective:

Analysis of the elements of mix marketing in an international context. Knowledge of the distinctive characteristics and the peculiarities that a plan in international marketing for a company involved in international operations should have. Practical application of the subject with examples and real cases from the Spanish and international business world.

- International Negotiations

Objective:

To provide the student with a general overview of the components which make up the stage on which international negotiations occur. To reflect analytically on the similarities and differences in criteria, values and judgements that may arise when we move in an international arena. To present strategies which attempt to facilitate success when undertaking negotiations which go beyond our borders.

A diploma will be awarded by the university!

Requirements

To be enrolled at a university at the same level of studies as the courses which you wish to pursue at Comillas Pontifical University.

The courses have a duration of 90 hours: 80 class hours + 10 hours of technical and cultural visits and are taught in Spanish except the courses "Digital Marketing and Digital Business" and "Innovation of the 4IR in a globalized world" which are taught in English. Students who are not native Spanish-speakers should certify that they have an intermediate level of Spanish. The theoretical classes are complemented by technical visits to companies, public and private institutions and entities, and with cultural visits to the Prado Museum and the "Madrid de los Austrias y de los Borbones".

Students can also participate in the supplementary activities organized at the University.

A diploma will be awarded by the university.
