The UNIJES-Jesuit Universities Network wishes to express its closeness, support and solidarity with the Nicaraguan people
In response to the grave events that have been happening in Nicaragua in recent months, the UNIJES-Jesuit Universities of Spain Network has published a manifesto with which it wishes to express its closeness, support and solidarity with all those who are suffering from this situation and, in a special way, with our sister University, the “UCA” of Nicaragua, Universidad Centroamericana UCA de Nicaragua, with which there exists a close historic and academic relationship of cooperation.
UNIJES and its institutions (Universities of Deusto, Comillas and Loyola de Andalucía, ESADE, IQS, INEA, SAFA, Faculty of Theology of Granada, ITF and HTSI) would like to add their voices to those of other institutions, networks and Jesuit Universities around the world "to honor the dignity of the victims, political prisoners and the missing".
The university communities wish to "make visible the suffering of our Nicaraguan brothers and sisters, with a call for dialogue and democracy as pathways to Justice and Peace".
On the same page where the full manifesto appears, it is possible to sign in solidarity, as well as collaborate with UCA scholarships.
