This Professor of Philosophy received Medal Number 18
Miguel García-Baró, a highly-regarded Philosopher and Professor in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (Comillas CIHS), has just been elected as an Academic of the Royal Academy of Moral and Political Sciences. The session was held on October 30, and García-Baró was presented with Medal Number 18th, vacated as a result of the passing away of Mariano Álvarez Gómez. García-Baró studied for his Bachelor´s Degree in “Philosophy and Letters” (“Arts and Letters”, as it was known at the time) at the Complutense University of Madrid, and prepared his Doctorate at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz (Germany). He presented his Doctoral thesis at the Complutense University in 1983. He worked there from 1978 to the year 2000, in the Departments of Logic and Metaphysics. Between 1996 and 1999, he worked as a commissioned researcher at the Institute of Philosophy of the CSIC. He joined Comillas in the year 2000.
