Detailed knowledge of agreements regarding shipbuilding and vessel use is vital. A firm understanding of the legislation applicable to seizure, collision, maritime salvage, etc. is also very important.

Successfully completing this program, together with the Specialist Degree in Maritime Business and the End of Course Project, gives access to the Master's Degree in Maritime Law and Business.
To provide participants with a specialism in the field of maritime law, in areas such as legal subjects in the shipping sector, the legal status of vessels, maritime insurance law and the different types of agreement for use of vessels.
By the end of the course, students will have gained a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of maritime law, equipping them to work professionally in this field.
Case Method
The case method is used throughout the course as a learning tool through which real situations will be analyzed and debated between speakers and participants.
Visits to places of interest
During the course, students will have the opportunity to visit companies and institutions that are involved in marine activity.
Student support
At the start of the course, each student will receive a portable device to use throughout the course in order to maximize productivity.
In addition, all the documents required to follow the course and to work on the proposed case studies will be available online throughout the course (conferences, policies, legislation, glossary, etc.).
Assessment will be based on participation, ability to resolve case studies, grades obtained during the course and attendance.
The Specialist (Program) in Maritime Law will be awarded to all students with a minimum attendance of 85% and who pass the tests taken during the course.
