It will be the first quantitative study on the refugee population in our country
The Rector of the Universidad Pontificia Comillas ICAI-ICADE, Julio L. Martínez, SJ, and Manuel Bretón Romero, President of Cáritas Española, have signed a first Specific Agreement for Collaboration, after the initial signing of the Framework Agreement for Collaboration, for the development of a relevant research project on the integration of the immigrant and refugee population in Spain.
This two-year study will be based on the completion of a survey at the national level on the population of immigrant origins in Spain, and another on the refugee population which, in the case of the latter, constitutes the first quantitative study on this theme in our country. In the second stage of the project, an intensive qualitative study will be carried out in neighborhoods with a high percentage of immigrant population.
On behalf of Comillas, the project is headed by the Chair for Refugees and Forced Migrants, sponsored by INDITEX, and belonging to the University Institute for Migration Studies, and by Spanish Cáritas, Team for Studies and Analysis. The project Directors are Juan Iglesias, Director of the Chair at Comillas, and Guillermo Fernández Maíllo, of the Team for Study and Analysis at Cáritas Española, respectively.
