Down Syndrome Madrid and “Fundación Repso”l renew the agreement for collaboration with the The Chair for the Family and Disabliites at Comillas ICAI-ICADE.
The Chair for the Family and Disabilities Fundación Repsol-Down Madrid (in Spanish, “Cátedra de Familia y Discapacidad Fundación Repsol-Down Madrid”) is celebrating its first five years with the signing of a new agreement that will give impetus to the research and social work that has already been done for five years. The objective of this new stage is to maintain the Chair as a national and international reference in the field of research on intellectual disabilities, as well as to use the Universidad Pontificia Comillas ICAI-ICADE as an inclusive training space.
The social work of the Chair has visibility, above all, thanks to the DEMOS Program, which during this academic year has initiated the formation of the sixth participating student class . It is a pioneering initiative that is being extended to other international universities. Thanks to this initiative, education is being facilitated for young people with intellectual disabilities, as well as their inclusion in the workplace. For this reason, students can choose between two itineraries: the Auxiliary Technical Training Program in Educational Environments and the Auxiliary Technical Training Program in Technological Environments.
