The Chair for the Family and Handicaps: Telefónica-Repsol Foundation-Down Syndrome Madrid awards Miguel Ángel Verdugo

Jornadas de Familia y Discapacidad.okThe Chair for the Family and Handicaps: Telefónica-Repsol Foundation-Down Syndrome held its 4th Conference on the Family and Intellectual Handicaps, which this year had the title of Innovación y transformaciones en discapacidad intellectual (Innovation and Transformations in Intellectual Handicaps). The Conference was the venue at which the Telefónica-Repsol Foundation-Down Syndrome Madrid Award for the Family and Handicaps was presented to Miguel Ángel Verdugo, Director of the University Institute for Integration in the Community (“Instituto Universitario de Integración en la Comunidad” or INICO) at the University of Salamanca, “someone who has known how to create a School. He was the person who introduced the concept of the quality of life related to those with handicaps in our country, one of the greatest revolutions in our area, and he has known how to combine international impact with local impact”, stated Ana Berástegui, the Director of the Chair.
